Hacienda Guzmán 500 years of olive oil tradition

Hacienda Guzmán represents one of Spain's oldest and most respected olive oil brands. The hacienda's origins date back over 500 years – to the golden age of Spanish trade, when the famous explorer Hernando Colón, son of Christopher Columbus, exported olive oil from this very estate to the Americas. Today, Hacienda Guzmán combines this rich history with state-of-the-art processing and the highest quality.

A heritage shaped by Andalusia

Hacienda Guzmán lies in La Rinconada, just outside Seville, in one of the historic heartlands of Andalusian olive growing. Surrounded by its own olive groves, the estate has been linked to olive oil production for centuries. All olives used are grown on the property itself, allowing full control over cultivation and guaranteeing complete traceability from tree to bottle.

The landscape of Hacienda Guzmán reflects a long relationship between people and land. Traditional olive varieties grow alongside carefully managed groves, where modern agronomic knowledge is applied with restraint and respect. Sustainability here is not a trend, but a continuation of practices that have protected the soil and the trees over generations.

At the centre of the estate stands a restored 17th-century hacienda, today home to an olive oil museum and cultural space. Visitors can explore the history of olive cultivation in Andalusia, learn about traditional milling techniques, and understand why extra virgin olive oil has always been a fundamental part of Mediterranean life.

Careful craftsmanship from harvest to bottle

The quality of Hacienda Guzmán oils begins in the grove. Olives are harvested early, often by hand, when they are still fresh and full of aromatic potential. Within hours of picking, they are cold-pressed at low temperatures to preserve their natural character, structure and nutritional properties.

Production is closely supervised at every stage by experienced agronomists and mill specialists. This careful approach results in expressive extra virgin olive oils that reflect both variety and origin. The range includes single-varietal oils such as Arbequina, Hojiblanca and Manzanilla, as well as thoughtfully composed blends that offer balance, depth and elegance.

Environmental responsibility is an integral part of daily work at Hacienda Guzmán. Water management, soil protection and the preservation of local biodiversity are treated as essential commitments rather than optional measures. These values extend beyond production, shaping the estate’s educational programs, tastings and guided visits.

Today, Hacienda Guzmán is recognised internationally not only for the quality of its olive oils, but also for its role in preserving olive oil culture. Each bottle reflects a place, a history and a way of working that remains firmly rooted in Andalusia.
