Premium Olive Oil - Cortijo de Suerte Alta
Cortijo de Suerte Alta is a family-owned estate and olive mill located in Albendín, Baena, in the province of Córdoba. With a history linked to olive growing since 1924, the estate produces organic extra virgin olive oils from its own olive groves, combining tradition, respect for the land and complete control of the process from tree to bottle.
A family estate with a century of olive-growing history
Cortijo de Suerte Alta is a family-owned estate located on the right bank of the Guadajoz River, next to the village of Albendín, in the municipality of Baena, Córdoba. Its history as an olive-growing estate began in 1924, when the Marquises of Bedmar started transforming land previously devoted to pasture and cereal crops into olive groves. The traditional olive trees of the Baena area – Picudo, Hojiblanco and Picual – were planted together following the customary farming methods of the time.
In 1986, Manuel Heredia Halcón, Marquis of Prado and grandson of the previous owners, took over the management of Suerte Alta. The family continued developing the estate while preserving its historic olive-growing heritage, introducing organic farming practices and progressively improving the cultivation and production systems. In 2006, a new olive mill was built on the estate, allowing Cortijo de Suerte Alta to control the entire production process and complete the journey from olive tree to finished extra virgin olive oil on the property itself.

Organic olive groves in the heart of Baena
The estate comprises around 255 hectares of its own olive groves, approximately 80% of which consist of traditional plantations around a century old. These historic groves preserve the characteristic varieties of the Baena region: Picudo, Hojiblanco and Picual. The combination of these varieties, together with the particular conditions of the estate and its careful cultivation, defines the identity of Cortijo de Suerte Alta's extra virgin olive oils.
Located in the countryside of Córdoba beside the Guadajoz River, the estate follows certified organic farming principles and works with a strong commitment to preserving the soil and the surrounding environment. All olives used to produce its oils come from the family's own groves, giving the producer direct control over cultivation, harvesting, milling and bottling. This estate-based production model, together with its connection to the Baena Designation of Origin, expresses the close relationship between Cortijo de Suerte Alta, its olive groves and the territory from which its oils originate.
