Arbequina olive oil from Aubocassa

Aubocassa, the olive oil producer from Manacor, proves that Mallorca can do much more than just party and party. Because with the single-variety Arbequina olive oil from Aubocassa, a high-quality extra virgin olive oil that is second to none is produced on the Balearic island. Wonderfully fresh and wonderfully fruity, with a minimal spiciness in the finish, the exquisite oil not only tastes good to connoisseurs, but also to those new to olive oil.

Aubocassa is located in the east of the island, in one of the few regions that is still dominated by agriculture. Even if most of the olive trees were only planted at the end of the last century, the finca can look back on a long agricultural tradition with viticulture, animal husbandry and grain cultivation. Its current owner, Mario Rotllant Solá, knows how to skillfully combine old traditions with modern technology and creates the exquisite Aubocassa Arbequina olive oil in Spain's most modern oil mill.

Arbequina, a small olive with great taste

It's hard to believe how much fruitiness and taste the smallest olive variety in Spain has to offer! With a weight of between one and two grams and a size of around two centimetres, the oval, symmetrical fruit looks rather inconspicuous. But as is so often the case, appearances are deceptive. In addition to its scent of green olive leaves, the Arbequina always scores with the wonderful fruit aromas of apple and tomato. Depending on the degree of ripeness of the fruit, the location of the olive grove and the climate, it can come up with a whole range of other scents.

The dwarf among the olive tree fruits is also impressive in terms of taste. Various herbs, fruits and vegetables can be perceived with a practiced tongue. And because the Arbequina contains less bitter substances than many other olives, the Arbequina olive oil, which is often even slightly sweet, is also popular with those new to olive oil or with children. The typical Arbequina olive oil is not quite as rich in polyphenols, but has a high proportion of oleic acid. This has the advantage that you can improve your cholesterol levels with the help of extra virgin olive oil. This is because the monounsaturated fatty acid can effectively help reduce bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol.

Excellent olive oil from Mallorca

Mmmmh, how that smells! As soon as you open the bottle, you can smell the wonderful smell of freshness and fruitiness. Now pour a sip of the velvety oil into a tall, tall glass. Turn the glass in your hand so that the inner wall is completely wet, and then take a deep breath. You don't have to put your nose directly over the opening of the glass to take in the wonderful, delicate scent of freshly cut grass and lemon zest. Then, if you sniff closer to Aubocassa's Arbequina olive oil, you'll discover a whole vegetable garden.

In addition to the scent of tomatoes, which immediately settles in the nose, other types of vegetables can be perceived. You can discover fruity nuances of green banana and apple, recognize traces of grapefruit, kiwi or pear and smell herbs such as thyme, sage or mint.

Take a small sip of Arbequina from Aubocassa in your mouth and you will be amazed by the silky consistency with which the top-class extra virgin olive oil caresses your lips. It tastes slightly sweet on the tip of the tongue. Fresh, fruity, green and spicy aromas unfold in the mouth. A light almond taste spreads and when swallowing, the top oil comes off with a minimal spiciness.

All in all, the exquisite Arbequina olive oil from Mallorca seems to unite the entire plant diversity of the Balearic island. So what could be better for locals or passionate Mallorca holidaymakers than a healthy, delicious and high-quality olive oil that reflects the Mediterranean nature of Mallorca.

Olive oil from Mallorca, more than just a delicious salad seasoning

Because Arbequina olive oils are generally a little more sensitive than other extra virgin olive oils, you should definitely store Aubocassa's single-variety top oil properly. This is the only way to keep the wonderful aromas and healthy ingredients in the oil for a long time.

  • With Aubocassa's Arbequina, do without a pretty, transparent glass carafe and place it on the table in its original dark bottle. Because the high-quality oil spoils faster due to the influence of light.
  • Keep the tasty olive oil in a cool place, such as the pantry or a kitchen cabinet. If you keep it next to the stove, the heat will ensure that the wonderful aromas dissipate more quickly.
  • Never leave the high-quality oil lying around in the open! Oxygen is the enemy of aromatic substances and healthy active ingredients.

By the way, the fruity Arbequina olive oil from Mallorca is the perfect ingredient for a successful salad dressing, but the delicious oil can do much more. If you drizzle it over the hard cheese on the cheese platter, it even gives the aromatic Parmesan a delicious additional nuance. Grilled vegetables can also be refined with the premium oil. It adds the finishing touch to a seafood platter and is even the icing on the cake in a fruit salad.
